When I was living in England, I bought a very old and very used HP Laserjet 4+ printer. And I loved it.
But the printer was pretty used, on its last legs, and would require an electrical transformer if we brought it with us to the US or Canada (110v vs. 220v).
So when we moved to Canada, my wife and I decided to go ahead and buy the exact same printer. After all, we loved it. Why not?
Well, after weeks of anxiousness, the HP LaserJet 4+ printer that we were waiting for arrived. Today.
It looks great. And it is almost brand new– only about 6500 pages printed. (The one we used to have had printed nearly 100,000 pages.)
The problem, I am finding, is that I did not have the foresight to make sure it came with the PostScript SIMM. And now the printer is giving me a “W2 Invalid Pers” error– which, according to fixyourownprinter.com, means that our printer does not have the Postscript module installed.
It looks like a cheap add-on– I have found two models on eBay for about $10 plus shipping. I just wish I could get it sooner!
