My Switch To Mac

Don’t Be Sorry - Be Smart!

November 2nd, 2005 · No Comments

I was in Office Depot yesterday looking for a bluetooth mouse. The gentleman at the store showed me one, but I didn’t think it would work.

The reason? The mouse was made by Microsoft. Though it was bluetooth, the box said it would only work with Windows XP. And I own a Mac. It probably would have worked - after all, it was supposed to be a bluetooth mouse. But why risk it?

I told the guy at the store that I owned a Mac and the box said it was for Windows only. His response? He said, “I’m sorry.”

The funny thing is that I am working on the road right now, and our hotel had a problem with its Wi-Fi internet this morning. Five other people had reported the same problem, so I know it was not an error on my part.

I called the tech support line to report the problem. Over the course of our chat, I told the guy I was on a Mac. And - get this - he said “I’m sorry” too! Isn’t that strange?

I don’t know what ran through these gentlemen’s minds, but I’m not sorry. My Mac is not a burden - it is a tool. And, for me, it just works.

I am not sorry that I switched to Mac. I am thrilled.

If you could walk down three flights of stairs, turn on your Mac, check your e-mail, put your Mac to sleep, and walk back up the stairs - all before your Windows laptop even booted up - you would be thrilled too.

Isn’t that what its all about? Having a computer that is useful?

Switching to Mac was one of the smartest choices I made this year. What does that say about the guy that’s “sorry”?
