The iPod Nano is, quite simply, a work of art. But it is just as functional. With no moving parts, you can have one thousand skip free songs. Listen to it while you run, and you’ll never miss a beat.
The iPod Nano is available in two colors - Back and Apple’s classic white. While Apple’s white color screams iPod, we prefer the black. Just because it looks cool.
Not only does this fit in the palm of your hand, but its beauty and functionality mean it is the perfect MP3 player for anyone you know that’s on the go.
PCMag.com has reviewed the iPod Nano and declared it an Editor’s Choice. They wrote, “At $199 for the 2GB version and $249 for the 4GB version (both available in black or white), we feel that Apple has made an incredibly satisfying product. We were so impressed that we’re awarding it our Editors’ Choice award. Sure you can get a 20GB full-size iPod for $299, but the benefits of an extremely small size and no moving internal parts easily justify the price.”
Walter Mossberg says the iPod Nano “is small and it sure is cool.” He wrote, “There are dozens of small, flash-based music players, but I haven’t seen any that combine the nano’s size and features. These features include the relatively large, 1.5 inch high-resolution color screen; Apple’s famous iPod navigation wheel; and the standard iPod connector port, which links to numerous iPod accessories. Most flash players have tiny screens that are hard to read, lousy navigation and few or no accessories.”
Playlist reviews the iPod Nano, saying “there just isn’t a cooler iPod on the planet” and giving it 4 1/2 out of 5. The continue, “A clear color screen, responsive and manageable controls, photo viewing, fast syncing, and impossibly thin. In my view the iPod nano is a nearly perfect fit for the middle of the iPod lineup, sounding great and mixing the best features of the shuffle, mini, and color iPod. While some may be disappointed by the lack of FireWire sync and consider the price of admission high given what you can have for $50 more than the 4GB model, your decision to purchase this slick little iPod may simply boil down to this: What are you willing to cough up for cool?”
TUAW says the iPod Nano is the “best iPod ever. I love it. I’m actually considering selling my 60GB iPod. It’s flash-based, so it is fast. It’s super light and small. The plug on the bottom isn’t weird like I thought it’d be. If I drop the iPod nano, it hangs nicely from the earphone cable without pulling free. It fits nicely in my shirt pocket.”
PC World rated the iPod Nano as 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. They say, “What you notice first about the iPod Nano, of course, is its size. It’s tiny, sure, but that isn’t all that unusual for flash memory players. What’s really impressive about the Nano–and a real breakthrough for a lilliputian MP3 player–is its screen, a bright, crisp color display that makes navigating your tunes a breeze.”
